I am often asked how I got into the field of audiology. When I was in High School I was a day camp counselor for the YMCA. I was assigned a group of kids and in my group were 2 boys - both profoundly hearing impaired, wore hearing instruments and used sign language. I worked with them all summer and I was hooked. I am one of the rare ones that knew exactly what they wanted to go into upon selecting a University. And I have never once regretted it. I love the field of audiology and what I can do to help people hear better and improve their communication.I believe connection is why we are here. Our relationships are how we participate in life. Communication through improved hearing and understanding is the foundation to a fulfilled life.
