Tijuana Design Week is an annual community-led festival of design which creates opportunities for interdisciplinary bridges and cross-pollination of projects. TIJDW seeks to create a platform for open dialogue to conceive of new ways to solve individual and collective challenges and celebrate the design community of the region.

As part of the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership Advisory Board, I helped guide de development of the "One Voice" Experience Plan by providing my unique perspective and by ensuring that the voice of my Tijuana community is at the table. I have accomplished this by guiding the development of the RFP and reviewing the 6 proposal preselected but the Cultural Partnership Board and selecting the firm. I will continue to support the winning firm with their assessment research on how people are experiencing the Cultural District and advise the on how to engage community organizations and leaders in Tijuana.

WILDCOAST is an international team that addresses conservation and climate change through natural solutions. They establish and manage protected areas, advocate for strong conservation policies, and work with communities to preserve healthy thriving oceans and wild coastlines.As part of the Board of Directors I support WildCoast with planning activities, community outreach and fundraising, to help move their plan forward, ensuring leadership continuity and new perspectives.

Representing WDC 2024 in Tijuana, in Baja California in México and Latin America. Supports the WDC team efforts in outreach, to establish relationships and invite communities to be a part of our 2024 designation celebration. Set-up Program Operations HQ in Tijuana, Baja California.

Supported the organization with initial planning and programing for the six WDC2024 Signature Events. Supported communications & marketing efforts. Successfully streamlined and managed and the Community Program submission portal, which received 420+ submissions from the San Diego Tijuana communities.Successfully planned and executed the FEB 28 Community Celebration at Tijuana's CECUT(Centro Cultural) for 360+ guests.Successfully managed the collaboration with the Tijuana Design Week team to execute WDC's Signature Event: World Design Festival, which took place May 1 - 5 in 40+ venues, and featured 300+ designers. Total attendees estimated at 8,000.

Supported planned and execution the organization's events: Posters for Peace Exhibition (NOV '22); Student's UNITE (FEB '23); WeeY Design Conference (APRIL '23); Design Student Portfolio Festival (MAY '23) and 3 Intrepido Speakers Series (FEB, MAY, AUG '23). Supported communications & marketing efforts. Successfully managed the collaboration with the Tijuana design community.

As a Designer-in-Residence at UCSD’s Design Lab I was part of the 14 person World Design Capital 2024 Transition team. I worked on the WDC Manifesto, a document that synthesizes multiple pieces of information into a 1 pager that explains the essence of the project in simple terms. I also supported the project with community outreach, establishing meetings with leaders in government, business and economic development of the Tijuana-San Diego region.

Establish, coordinate and oversee Tijuana Innovadora relationships and activities with San Diego and US partners, which include government, academia, chambers of commerce, economic development organizations, media, businessmen, environmental activists and entrepreneurs. These activities can relate to diverse issues such as Education, Leadership, Environment, Arts & Culture, Crime Prevention, Government Relations, Science, Innovation among others. Established the TI San Diego Advisory Council in 2013 and coordinates all activities with the 24+ members, which includes leaders from San Diego County and the Council Generals of US in Tijuana and of Mexico in San Diego. Represent Tijuana Innovadora on several Boards and during events in San Diego.

Coordinate schedule, instructor availability, venues, communication with attendees and organize materials and tools for informative sessions and workshops.

Recruitment, training and supervision of 560 youths who volunteered to assist during the Tijuana Innovadora 2012 event and 640 volunteers during Tijuana Innovadora 2014 event. These volunteers has assignments in: Guest Services, Production, Media Relations, Operations, Program, Eco Volunteers, Workshops, Pavilions and Public Relations.

Assist Committee coordinator in establishing relationships with various groups and individuals in the San Diego area. Communication with contacts and data base maintenance. Follow up on ideas and initiatives from partners and strategic alliances. Report to Organizing Committee on all Binational activities and requirements. Assist in organizing and attended Binational Committee events and presentations. Coordinated Binational Terrace during the Tijuana Innovadora '12 event. The work resulted in being promoted to Direct Binational Affairs for the organization.

I co-chaired the Site Visit Experience Committee for the first ever binational World Design Capital 2024 bid. I helped develop a program for a two-day site visit of the World Design Organization delegate to our region. I accomplished this by leading our committee members to identify and develop eight criteria that each site considered for the visit would have to meet. This narrowed the list of potential venues from 144 to a select few that provided a coherent and comprehensive representation of this region. By hosting weekly meetings, guiding the committee with deliverables, and keeping open channels of communication, we won the buy-in of graphic design experts, DEI consultants, User Experience designers, educators, representatives from the mayor’s office, and other design thinkers from the San Diego-Tijuana region.

Recruitment, training and supervision of the 400+ youth who volunteered to support the event in the following departments: Guest Services, Production, Media Relations, Operations and Information during the Tijuana Innovadora 2010, a 14 day event in Tijuana.The volunteers were very successful in their assignments and promoting the best of their city. When the event was reviewed, the Volunteers were the highest rated department by attendees, organizers and other participants.

Created and maintained relationships with San Diego leadership in chambers of commerce, academia, economic development organizations, media and entrepreneurs.

Organized department's work schedule, coordinated and supervised the creative team, which included a creative director, art director, graphic designers and copywriter. Coordinated and held brainstorming sessions and creative sessions. Coordinated and supervise production which included contracting printing, photography and promotional items. Prepare design and production estimates.
