Advised and assisted CCO in all aspects of the corporate compliance program, including employee personal trading, political contributions, gifts and entertainment and charitable contributions. Criminal Defense

Assisted Vice President in a wide range of real estate transactions, including sales and acquisitions, leasing transactions and finance transactions. Drafted legal documents, conducted due diligence and legal research. Managed the review and sit in on negotiations of broker agreements and confidentiality agreements. Assisted General Counsel with ad hoc projects. Communicated to senior management the status of specific matters. Liaised with outside counsel and internal legal and accounting departments on all aspects of real estate transactions.

Criminal Defense Clinic: Represented individual clients charged with misdemeanors in Manhattan Criminal Court. Made bail applications during client arraignments, interviewed and counseled clients about current cases, investigated cases, interviewed witnesses, drafted motions and other legal documents, prepared for trial and engaged in plea negotiating.

Drafted motions and post-petition briefs for pending litigation. Argued motions in front of housing court judges and under the supervision of advising attorneys. Met with tenant organizers and prepared clients to testify in Article 7-A trials in order to convince the court to remove "absentee" landlords and appoint administrators in buildings with hazardous conditions.

Interviewed defendants prior to their arraignments and made bail applications. Researched and drafted memoranda on various issues, including how to attack search warrants and unlawful seizures of gravity knives. Prepared defendant for a "Queen For a Day" meeting at the District Attorney's office. Shadowed attorneys and observed them at various proceedings, including hearings, trials, and sentencings.

Researched and wrote numerous memoranda on topics such as the U.S. Department of Justice's policies on granting leniency to defendants for the cooperation in antitrust investigations, single versus multiple conspiracies to rig bids and fix prices, and withdrawal as a defense to conspiracy.
