About Laura O'Leary
I work at the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) as a Commonwealth Games (CWG) Legacy Project Officer. In my current role, I support the Head of the Commonwealth Games Legacy Enhancement Fund (CWGLEF) and the wider programme team with the project management of the CWGLEF, which is a £70m fund that will enhance the legacy of the CWG and ensure its benefits continue their positive impact for many years to come. I take pride in my ability to build strong working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and I am also a highly organised individual with experience in developing systems and processes that help facilitate effective project management by ensuring projects are delivered compliantly, on time, within budget, and in accordance with programme objectives. I previously worked in the Arts sector for various cultural organisations, which helped develop my budget, stakeholder, and time management skills, and involved me working on several complex and prominent national and international programmes. This was key to the development of my interpersonal skills. I am passionate about making a positive difference to constituents and communities in the West Midlands at a local and regional level and supporting local people by utilising my skills while working for organisations that aim to serve, support, and grow the region.
