I have successfully managed a career in Healthcare Marketing and Advocacy for over 25 years. I began in sales and marketing in the Pharmaceutical industry and was a Top Producer for over 18 years. I have award-winning experience in selling products to physicians and hospitals in the areas of Allergy, Dermatology, Gynecology, Immunology, Neurology and Respiratory Medicine and Urology. I parlayed my success in pharmaceutical sales into a lucrative career in Home Healthcare Marketing. I was able to leverage the relationships I developed while in pharma to significantly grow patient census and market share in the home healthcare arena. Within 2 years I was promoted and appointed to the position of Regional Director of Western Michigan for Residential Home Health. The most personally rewarding aspect of my time in home healthcare was working with patients to help identify their care needs and arrange for transitional services to assist in maintaining their health, safety and well-being at home. This led to my pursuing Certification as a Long Term Care Ombudsman. As a resident advocate for the last 6 years, I serve people residing in nursing homes and assisted living communities. I help to resolve problems they face, both medical and non medical, that impact their quality of life and quality of care. It is my duty and privilege to insure that all LTC residents’ rights are upheld and their preferences are honored in all aspects of their care and daily lives by providing protection and support so they may enjoy their best life possible.
