My passion is empowering my clients with the tools, information, support and confidence they need to fully utilize the power of emerging media and new technology. My background in media and technology gives me a broad range of experience to bring to clients who want to raise their communications level, utilize new technology to reach their target audiences and work effectively with third-party service providers. I am an advocate for my clients, bridging the gap between business and technology, translating complex technical issues into actionable business concepts and making sure they get what they are paying for across the board. I can work independently in communications, technology adaptation, social media and data management, or with your team to help address business challenges, build solutions, train and educate staff and work myself out of a contract. Technology evens the playing field for businesses - regardless or size. A small business can put their best foot forward and have world-class communications, safely, securely and smartly utilizing digital technologies. But too often I see small companies being sold into higher-end solutions that they don’t understand and aren’t staffed to maintain when there are better, more manageable options available. Or where a provider is “doing what the client wants” but not what the client needs.My first question before we start our business relationship will be: What do you want to accomplish? I have worked with Fortune 500 corporations as a journalist, a corporate manager and a senior executive, where I had a record of identifying these creative solutions to business goals that were cost-effective and manageable. My experience includes leadership in communications, journalism, media relations, technology and technology training. I am looking for clients who want a partner to advocate for them, work with them, elevate them and train them to own it over the long term.

Today, the corporation’s communications with field locations are primarily done utilizing web conferencing.* We negotiated a unique contract with Element K - a major vendor of online training on technology applications -- and brought 24X7 training to the company's then 56,000 knowledge workers. -

Various Editorial PositionsThe Courier News 1984 - 1997As managing editor from 1992 to 1997, I was responsible for the day to day operation of the newspaper from daily coverage, to enterprise and project planning, staff assignments and management. I oversaw all the major editorial projects the paper embarked on during that time. I supervised a dozen department heads and an overall staff of 90. Most proud of: During my tenure, the newspaper was awarded the state press association’s General Excellence award five times in five consecutive years.Signing on as an assistant news editor in 1984, I was promoted to news editor and then executive news editor. I managed the copy desk, ensured that the newspaper was well edited, accurate, and on time. During this time period I also became the technical go-to person in the newsroom and also was the lead staffer in the implementation of a new editorial system - my first technical implementation.
