In my work with TWIN-CS, I serve on the research committee, which designs research initiatives to support the two-way immersion Catholic schools within the network. Our current initiative explores parent and teacher experiences of TWI Catholic schools in order to better understand why parents and teachers choose these programs/schools and how we might better meet the needs of the diverse families served by our school communities. I have also delivered professional development sessions related to second language learning, participated in TWIN-CS design team meetings, and supported school leaders through monthly professional learning community sessions.

For eight years, I worked as part-time faculty with the English as a New Language (ENL) program, a division of the Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE) at the University of Notre Dame. In this role, I taught summer and online graduate-level courses related to second language acquisition and methods for supporting English learners. In addition to teaching, I facilitated ENL professional development workshops for Catholic school teachers around the U.S. and Chile and served as a consultant for a two-way immersion school in South Bend, Indiana.

In my role as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Colorado-Boulder, I co-led a Spencer grant-funded project exploring how educators working in elementary bilingual contexts take up a genre-based approach to writing instruction and the impact of this approach on their classroom writing practices. My primary responsibilities in this position involved grant writing, partnership-building with teachers and leaders, leading and developing professional learning experiences for teachers, data collection/analysis and writing, and mentoring doctoral students.
