WD-40 Company is home to one of the world’s best-known brands. Its signature product, WD-40 Multi-Use Product, made its first appearance on store shelves in San Diego in the 1950s. The WD-40 distribution network includes 62 unique trade channels. As the Director of Sourcing, I am responsible for frequent cross-departmental collaboration with Directors of Operations, Strategy, Research & Development, Legal, Financial, Marketing, and more. I liaise with suppliers, service providers, and manufacturers across the globe, showcasing a broad knowledge of supply chain functions. Focused on the development of short and long-term strategies, I work hard to improve the cost of goods for WD-40 while delivering impactful process improvements. I place an executive-level focus on key areas such as leadership, sourcing, supplier relationship management, business continuity, program management, packaging, budgetary estimates, cost models, and forecasting. Demonstrating my in-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing, I create and support a solid framework for WD-40 within a complex supply architecture. My primary duties include: → Leading contract negotiations with all packagers and critical suppliers. I coordinate and complete complex and sensitive negotiations with a persuasive, honest, and transparent approach. → Executing short and long-term strategic sourcing initiatives. I spend time identifying suppliers for raw materials, components, and co-packers to ensure sustainable value for WD-40.→ Providing strategic direction and project oversight. I ensure direct and timely communication of project deadlines and expectations while delivering leadership to program and project managers, packaging engineers, customer marketing, and brand teams. → Developing cost-of-goods budgets and forecasting policies. I help drive the company toward a streamlined approach to strategic cost management, resulting in improved resource allocation and optimization of cost-of-goods sold.
