Assistant Attorney General
In the Consumer Protection Division, my work focused on investigations and civil prosecutions of health-related entities and education-related businesses and institutions that harm North Carolina constituents through unfair or deceptive trade practices. I coordinated with state agencies, federal agencies, and other states in researching, investigating, and pursing claims of unlawful business practices.From 2014 to 2017, I represented the UNC System and the North Carolina Community College System in employment litigation (NCGS Ch. 126, Title VII, ADA, etc), Title IX issues, contract claims, constitutional questions, trust and estate disputes, etc. I appeared in state, federal, and administrative courts on behalf of North Carolina's public colleges and universities and the NCCCS.I have also represented the Department of Health and Human Services in Medicaid recipient appeals on behalf of the Attorney General.
