SolarSPELL is a global educational initiative, based at Arizona State University, that combines localized digital libraries, solar-powered ultra-portable technology, and local capacity building. We work to build information literacy and internet-ready skills and improve educational opportunities around the world. SolarSPELL empowers learners globally by providing localized educational information and the training to build 21st century skills in offline environments. Student success is central to our mission, both around the world and at ASU.

Spider’s mission is to support the use of Information and Communication Technology to improve accountability, education and health in developing regions. Spider establishes collaborations, shares knowledge and builds capacity through networks globally. Spider’s vision is an interconnected world where Information and Communication Technology enables everyone to have their voices heard and their needs met.

Assistant Professor of Political Science. Courses taught: Technology for International Development (T4D), International Relations, Fieldwork Methods (in-the-field projects), Global Political Economy, Science & Technology Policy, Comparative Politics, and Interprofessionalization Project-Based Courses, including on Entrepreneurship. Preferred teaching style emphasizes Experiential, Service Learning, Team-Based Classes, Project-Based Challenges, & International Immersion. Research focus is technology for development. Current research work in Pacific Islands.Involved with Engineers Without Borders (EWB) and Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) student groups.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Information and Communications Technology for Development as a Ciriacy-Wantrup Postdoctoral Fellow. Carried out grant-funded research on innovative technology projects in Sri Lanka, Macedonia, and the former Yugoslavia.
