Copenhagen Legal Tech is a non-profit association made to develop Denmark as a leading hub for legal tech globally. I serve on the board and provide perspective and insights from the general counsel and in-house legal team point of view.

I provide practical education and strategic advice for adopting, integrating, and using various generative AI tools and legaltech, tailored to the unique needs of the legal industry. I specialize in general education on generative AI, developing use cases for AI integration, and prompt training. I collaborate closely with knowledge management teams, law firm partners, general counsel, legal operations, and heads of IT to empower legal teams to embrace AI safely and securely in a way that fits their needs and tech stack. Additionally, I consult on AI governance, ensuring that the adoption of AI aligns with regulatory standards and best practices. My holistic approach prepares legal professionals to not only integrate AI into their practice effectively but also to lead the innovation-driven future of law.

I collaborate closely with the sales, operations, and engineering teams to develop efficient legal operations that align with the business's growing service offerings and market expansions. My objective is to fortify our infrastructure and refine our processes to enhance compliance with international labor and employment regulations. I utilize my expertise in legal design to develop clear and compliant solutions, and engineer software products informed by local regulations and caselaw. I steered the legal department during a critical period of transition and growth, laying the groundwork for scalable legal strategies aligned with the company's expansion goals. I led and managed the expansion of our product counsel team to match the company’s growth into new verticals and its evolution into a publicly traded entity. I established and enforced key legal and risk management frameworks, safeguarding Unity’s innovations and technology. Central to my efforts was setting higher standards for legal compliance, where I led the recruitment, training, and management of product counsel across emerging verticals. My role as a central figure ensured consistent, high-quality legal advice, reducing risks and inefficiencies as Unity grew. This work was vital in supporting Unity’s expansion, ensuring our legal practices kept pace with our technological advancements. Additionally, I oversaw the EMEA legal department, establishing myself as the foremost senior go-to legal expert in both the Copenhagen office and across Europe. My responsibilities also extended to serving on the Copenhagen office leadership team, where I helped guide the office's direction and championed the needs and interests of our employees. This was particularly crucial as Unity transitioned its leadership focus to the West Coast of California. My involvement in these capacities highlighted my dedication to fostering Unity's global operations and workforce amidst a transformative phase of organizational evolution.

As the first legal counsel hire in Europe and the first full-time legal counsel dedicated to supporting Unity's R&D team, comprised of over 900 software developers and engineers, I was instrumental in shaping the first product counsel role. I managed licensing negotiations, crafted software co-development partnerships, and seamlessly integrated open-source licensing guidelines into engineering workflows. Additionally, I was responsible for managing intellectual property concerns and legal risks across global R&D operations. To quickly scale compliance efforts, I introduced a legal educational series for R&D teams, effectively translating the intricacies of licensing, intellectual property, and open-source software (OSS) into actionable guidance.

As the first legal hire at XR startup Littlstar (now Rad), I uniquely combined the roles of legal counsel and business development executive. I was responsible for establishing and managing all legal and compliance frameworks, guiding the company through legal challenges, notably in spearheading a legal framework for a proprietary cryptocurrency project amidst regulatory uncertainties. My efforts were pivotal in ensuring compliance with SEC regulations during a period of significant legal ambiguity around cryptocurrency. Additionally, I embraced technical learning, acquiring basic coding skills to effectively utilize GitHub, enhancing my collaboration with the development team.

My tenure supporting the distribution sales team was characterized by optimizing commercial distribution legal operations to meet ambitious revenue targets. By refining contract processes and fostering a team capable of navigating international legal landscapes, I contributed to a streamlined operation that significantly reduced deal closure times. In addition, I provided legal advice to the emerging digital project, Red Bull TV.
