Lasting relationships, referrals, and repeat business constitute the core of the firm's success.Since acquiring the firm from our founder in 2003, it was my responsibility to manage the day-to-day operations of the business, our agents, and administrative staff and to bring our firm into the 21st century. During one of the most difficult periods in the real estate industry, I led our expansion from one to three offices and from five to fourteen agents, resulting in an increase in sales from 20 to over 60 million. As the managing broker, I provided a high level of support and responsiveness to our agents and helped them reach their sales and income goals year after year. Their success was integral to the firm's success as well as my own. I also led the firm's efforts to modernize its business, legal, compliance, and accounting practices.

As an attorney working on contract with the Cargill Law Department, I worked closely with several business units, Joint Ventures, and the Cargill IT Department. Their legal needs ranged from contracts, real estate, licensing, and commercial transactions. With the IT Vendor Management Group, I helped standardize the processes for contracting IT services and purchasing hardware and software products. Specifically, I negotiated, drafted, and analyzed software license, IT service, hardware, and telecommunication agreements; drafted and negotiated supply and service agreements between Cargill and its third party suppliers; and negotiated chemical supply agreements between Cargill and its Joint Ventures

As a grain merchant for Cargill in Toledo, OH and Minneapolis, MN, I purchased corn, soybeans and wheat directly from farmers and country elevators. Flour millers in the Southeast part of the US were my assigned customers, and I developed relationships with them that led to an increase in sales for high quality soft red winter wheat from our Cargill elevators in the Midwest. In Minneapolis, I helped the Cargill elevators in North Dakota manage their grain and freight positions while continuing to originate grain from outside customers.
