Future Energy

As part of my Australian Power Institute Bursary program, I undertook a 12 week summer industrial training placement in TransGrid’s Network and Operations, in the Future Grid Planning team.I was located in Ultimo for the duration of my placement, and continued to work there part time while at university. Some of the key projects I have been involved in include: - Writing a research paper on the key implications of hydrogen technology on the transmission network- Programming TransGrid’s 3 Tesla batteries to trial demand response during peak periods when the network may experience constraints- Scenario-based transmission planning workshops and presentationsMy placement at TransGrid has been valuable industry experience, requiring me to work both autonomously and in diverse teams. I have a significantly improved understanding of the industry, and have developed my technical engineering skills & critical thinking ability.

Selected as a New Colombo Plan Scholar to work with Pollinate Group as a Student Fellow in Bangalore, India. Specific work on Menstruation Market Research and Sustainable Product Trials. Responsibilities include:- Designing and conducting surveys of 100 women in urban slum communities- Software include: Salesforce, Microsoft Excel - Communication with stakeholders and potential suppliers- Working in a team of 4 other fellows to deliver a final report and presentation to the company
