I am the founder, as well as lead coordinator and environmental advocate, of the grassroots group, Save Arlington Wildlife (SAW), which focuses on restricting rodenticides. Through this role I have successfully coordinated rallies drawing over 300 people; helped secure critical media coverage, including a top page editorial in a major national newspaper; and offer public presentations around the state of Massachusetts, both in person and virtually. SAW is not just a grassroots group--it is a movement that is sweeping across the state and region. "Save Wildlife" has over 20 groups and initiatives throughout the Boston metro area, while SAW is quickly gaining widespread recognition as a leading authority on the environmental harms associated with rodenticides. In addition to my work with SAW, I am a multi-award winning reporter/writer. I am currently a freelance health blogger for Health Union and a frequent contributing reporter for the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism and their sibling publication, Dig Boston. I am also part of the teaching faculty at Boston's creative writing center, Grub Street, where I instruct writing workshops focused on creative nonfiction and poetry. I have written for numerous magazines and media outlets, including but not limited to the Atlantic, the Guardian, the Washington Post, Politico, Salon, Vice, Vox, Ozy, Earth Island Journal, Healthline, Headspace, Harvard Health, Science, Inside Climate News, and many others. From 2013 to 2015, I was a top-rated reporter and columnist for the popular financial news website, The Street. My reporting has earned me a number of accolades, including a fellowship with the Metcalf Institute for Marine & Environmental Reporting, a $10,000 Unicorn Grant with the Media Democracy Fund, and a slot as a 2022 finalist for the David Carr Award for Investigative Reporting with the Association of Alternative Newsmedia. I have worked as a contract editor, proofreader, content developer, and fact checker with organizations such as Valor Water Analytics, the Green Education Foundation, the Union of Concerned Scientists, Harvard University, and Root Cause. I am a public speaker who has lectured and fielded questions on panels covering topics that include media biases, tips on pitching to reporters, sustainability, disability justice, and housing equity.In 2021, my debut collection of poems, titled Swallowing the Stem of Adam's Apple, was published by Unsolicited Press.
