Laura has been a Nationally Registered Occupational Therapist (OTR) since 1983 and has held a license to practice the profession of OT in the State of Arizona since 1992 when licensure originated in the state. In 2023, Laura became licensed to practice OT in the State of New Mexico currently holding 2 state licenses. Laura originally came out west from the New York area to study with Lorna Jean King, FAOTA, a well known OT/researcher in the field of Sensory Integration/Sensory Processing disorders which began a career driven focus. Laura worked for 13 years at St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center in Phoenix, Arizona where she was able to learn about & apply sensory integrative/sensory processing strategies towards behavioral health issues with good success. In 1991, Laura obtained a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management and has been running her own business, Sensory Solutions, Inc. since 2008. From 2003-2019 Laura worked in individual homes, day programs & with various agencies offering OT services through the Arizona Developmental Disabilities (“DDD”) & other private contracts. Laura has taught OT at both the community college (OTS) & graduate levels (MOT). Laura is currently working with Therapy Tree based out of Phoenix, Arizona to provide OT sessions via Telehealth & in-clinic sessions. In 2023, Laura began to develop an online LIVE STREAM channel at https://www.twitch.tv/ucarecommunity to offer support for children, families & caregivers especially related to Autism, Behavior & Developmental needs. However, this programming is back in its developmental stages.For something different, Laura has been working on managing her husband's musical career.
