The Art of Dying Institute (AODI) is a resource for education and research that focuses on spiritual, scientific, and practical approaches to death and dying. “The Art of Dying: Integrative Thanatology Certificate Program” is one of the professional training components of the AODI. The Art of Dying Institute’s mission is to be the premier institute dedicated to fostering an engaged community of practitioners; researchers and scholars; educators; front-line innovators; partners; and investors to address the need for a cultural awakening focused on the themes of death, how we die, and the consequences for how we live. AODI recognizes that as Americans display more receptivity to death and dying, more insistence on death with dignity, and more possession of rights and personal empowerment in the face of medical authorities, the time has come for a fundamental re-envisioning and renewal of our approach to death, dying and living.
