About Laura Kroart

I am a public health researcher and Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Towson University and a recently defended PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. I am passionate about social justice, qualitative and mixed methods, and substance use research. In October 2023, I defended my dissertation: a qualitative study focusing on the lives of women who use opioids on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I am also very interested in teaching and exploring different pedagogical approaches to improve the knowledge and wellbeing of students.
