Assistant clinical professor at Northwestern University and a clinical speech-language pathologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. My primary role was clinical - providing direct patient care within the acute care and outpatient settings, diagnosing and treating a variety of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice and swallowing disorders in adult and geriatric populations. My areas of special interest included dysphagia, dysphagia evaluation and instrumentation (particularly fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing, or FEES), and neurogenic-based communication disorders. Functioned as the clinical team lead for NMH's FEES program, and was involved in various department and hospital-based projects focusing on process improvement, clinical documentation optimization and interdisciplinary education & learning. I continue to hold my position as an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University, and teach various graduate level courses in the Master of Speech, Language & Learning program, including Acquired Neurolinguistic & Neurocognitive Disorders. Most common invited & guest lecture topics include: medical speech-language pathology, treatment of the critically ill patient, laryngeal imaging, and dysphagia.

My primary role was that of an acute care therapist, diagnosing and treating a variety of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice and swallowing disorders in the adolescent, adult and geriatric populations. I conducted various specialized imaging studies, including video fluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS/MBS), flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and videostroboscopy.I was a Faculty Instructor within the College of Health Sciences at Rush University. I provided direct clinical supervision and mentorship to graduate students completing graduate practicum experiences, and often guest lectured at various graduate level courses related to clinical methods. I was also involved in the hospital community as a whole, as I participated in various multi and interdisciplinary teams across multiple levels of care to improve overall patient outcomes. I was recently involved in the implementation of a new data-driven stroke swallow screening protocol for RUMC's comprehensive stroke program.

As a graduate student clinician, I completed six clinical placements in school-based, acute care, inpatient rehab, subacute rehab, and outpatient rehab settings at Chicago-area institutions including Rush University Medical Center, Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare, University of Illinois at Chicago, Lovell Federal Healthcare Center, and Chicago Public Schools.
