I serve on the Board of the National Digital Inclusion Alliance. We shine a spotlight on inequity in access to, and use of, the Internet - and on ways to address those inequities. For more than 25 years, I have worked with community organizations, government agencies, advocacy groups, libraries and others to find the gaps in technology access and bridge them. I have been lucky and privileged to work with some amazing people - Larry Irving, Angela Siefer, Steve Downs, Toni Stone, Bill Callahan. In 2023 I was named to the Internet Hall of Fame for my work on digital equity. The work continues. Thanks to all who contribute.

Team Leader, Btop ProgramUs Department Of Commerce, Ntia May 2009 - Jun 2015Washington, District Of ColumbiaI was a team lead in Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) at NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the Department of Commerce). BTOP was part of the 2009 Recovery Act, passed in response to the financial crisis of 2008 (now know as the Great Recession). $450M was set aside for computer centers and broadband adoption under this program - my team awarded and managed those grants. A successor program called Broadband USA is ongoing. -
