I serve as a board member for NDIA, an organization I helped found in 2015. NDIA has grown to more than 1,400 affiliates and is a national leader in digital equity and coalition building. I am on the Governance Committee, which recruits new board members and ensures that NDIA's fiduciary obligations are met.

I was a team lead in Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) at NTIA (National Telecommunications and Information Administration at the Department of Commerce). BTOP was part of the 2009 Recovery Act, passed in response to the financial crisis of 2008 (now know as the Great Recession). $450M was set aside for computer centers and broadband adoption under this program - my team awarded and managed those grants. A successor program called Broadband USA is ongoing.

Classics -- The Next Generation. We make a public radio and television show that features outstanding young classical musicians (who are also skateboarders, shoppers, video game players, athletes...) playing and talking about who they are. Our education programs bring these young performers into schools and community organizations to demonstrate for other kids what they do and encourage budding musicians.

Managed a talented group whose mission was to integrate technology into community life and education.

Founding director of this federal matching grants program, designed to jump start the use of the Internet in the public sector. Designed program guidelines, selected proposals for recommendation to Assistant Secretary at NTIA, and worked closely with major stakeholders within and outside government.

The Internet was becoming the next big thing! FARNET was an association of fledgling ISPs, regional education networks, and some of the first carriers to enter the Internet business. I directed the organization at a time when Internet policy and the national "information superhighway" were rapidly evolving, along with the ISP landscape.
