Facade Inspections and Repairs. Local Law/FISP, Roof replacements

At HLZA, I work with on restoration projects in Manhattan and the boroughs. I work on projects from the proposal phases through to project close out. On any typical job I may conduct initial surveys in order to produce base drawings to use for the job, prepare contract documents, prepare specifications, conduct building inspections prior to and during construction both throughout the building as well as from supported and swing stage scaffolds, monitor construction progress and quality control, conduct leak inspections, prepare field reports, attend and conduct construction meetings and prepare meeting minutes, conduct local law inspections and prepare reports as well as communicate with clients and contractors. I have been enjoying becoming more involved with the construction admin phases of restoration.

I work in the restoration group at Lawless and Mangione. We design and oversee the improvements and maintenance of buildings in Manhattan, Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn. Specifically, I:-Conduct building inspections-Produce facade repair drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details) and reports based on inspection findings-Produce specifications for the repairs-Create 3D models and renderings for new construction of roof decks and building awnings/canopy at street level entryways-Produce cost estimates and budgets for a project in it's entirety as well as for PW-3 forms for a permit from the DOB. -Work with our expediter and the clients to get jobs approved and to pull the permits from the NYC DOB.-Communicate with the client and contractors

· Assisted in the design of two major projects: Three story church addition/renovation and two story office and storage facility. · Collaborated and coordinated designs with mechanical, structural, and civil engineers in order to produce accurate construction documents. · Developed a coherent understanding of the New York State Building Code, New York City Building Code, and the International Building Code. · Strengthened my understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act Standards. · Researched and created Public Assembly, Life Safety, and Zoning plans for the City of New York. · Monitored project team's accurate implementation of technical standards and techniques. · Maximized efficiency while preparing construction documents utilizing AutoCAD under tight deadlines. · Designed interior spaces and specified construction materials. · Created design renderings for Client Presentations utilizing Photoshop, Sketch-up, and Autodesk 3D Max. · Performed field work including walk-downs, survey verifications, client meetings, bid presentations2007

· Collaborated with other project and junior architects on various projects dealing with colleges, universities, and retail buildings. · Lead designer /drafter for two prototypical retail stores. · Coordinated architectural design with mechanical systems and structures. · Drafted construction documents from sketches consisting of plans, sections, elevations, and details. · Created artistic presentation renderings utilizing Photoshop.
