I started working in cyber security in 2014 after deciding to make a career change from Construction. I graduated my military training with honors and was stationed in Texas. Since then I've been a team lead, technical expert and training manager for my work center. I thrive off of challenges and am always searching for new learning experiences.My first job in the Navy was with the Seabees as a builder. I had a knack for blueprints and material management and was quickly assigned my own team on my first project. I went on to be a crew leader and project supervisor for several projects. I also attended several courses in OSHA safety and served as a safety manager for multiple projects despite the position being above my pay grade. After four years working as a Seabee I decided I wanted to pursue a bigger challenge that would also help me complete my degree. I chose Computer networking. I passed JCAC (military computer training school) and completely embraced my new career field. At my next duty station I started as an operator, but was advanced to a team lead position after only 4 months. At that time I was also selected to be an assistant subject matter expert. In 2015 I was again advanced to training manager and put in charge of training and qualifying 30+ personnel. I have several certifications including Network+, CCNA and CCNA Security. I also just completed my Bachelors degree in Cyber Security.
