I could start this by pointing to you all my degrees and expertise, but that will not tell you who I am.So, hello, my name is Laura, and I am passionate about science, communication, and, ultimately, making a difference. Learning and teaching are two of the things I love the most in my life, and I realized I could use it to build a career despite being that (a little annoying) friend at the bar that takes every opportunity to share knowledge. I excel in taking the main info from scientific publications and “translating” it to terms that my audience will comprehend, and also in listening to my audience and their pain so I can act accordingly and bring solutions to their needs through science.And in case you are wondering, I am a pharmacist-biochemist with a master’s and a doctorate in Biosciences and Biotechnology, a fancy description to say that my knowledge background includes molecular and cell biology, cancer, hematology, microbiology, and light-based therapy technologies. Throughout my whole career, I have sought challenges that would lead me to learn something new. This need for the new, besides pushing me forward, made me a more complete scientist, capable of working in several fields. The latest field I embraced was communication, which I combined with science in a project on social media, that I run besides being a researcher.
