I have been involved in audit, accountancy and advisory for many years and from this have a very broad range of professional experience and expertise ranging from owner managed businesses to listed companies and charities of all sizes.My particular areas of expertise lie within audit, technical accountancy and regulatory matters, the Charity and Not-for-Profit sector, systems and controls reviews and grant certifications and audits.I feel passionate about the Third Sector, where I have specialised since 2010, and hold the ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting (DChA), which demonstrates my knowledge, experience and ongoing commitment to the sector. Through my work professionally as an advisor/auditor and as a Trustee I have become committed to working with the Third Sector. The large specialist Charity and Not-for-Profit team at BHP work closely with our clients helping them not just to meet their legal and regulatory obligations but by offering them practical and pragmatic advise to help them meet their objectives, which are often both charitable and business focussed in these changing times for the sector.I enjoy the diversity and challenge in the sector and feel that my extensive experience of the private and not for profit sectors blends well. As charities look to diversify and commercialise I work with them using my commercial skills set but equally take the importance of good governance to my private clients, an area where they can celeb much from the third sector.
