Key areas of editorial focus: commercial fiction, women’s fiction, young adult/new adult, historical fiction, saga, crime and psychological thrillers.I am a freelance fiction editor with more than ten years’ experience in the publishing industry. Most recently I was Editorial Director at Canelo where I was nominated for Publisher of the Year by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.Previously I worked for Mills & Boon UK, Harlequin Canada and Oxford University Press in a variety of editorial roles, having gotten my start in the industry interning at The Rights Factory Inc. literary agency. I have BAs in History and Political Science from The University of Western Ontario, an MA in Early Modern History from Manchester University and a postgraduate Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University.In my work as a freelance editor and project manager I work with publishers and authors at all stages of the editorial process, providing structural and line edits, proofreading, submission assessment and art and cover briefs.
