Teaching and educating is my passion! Driven student and after-school program teacher dedicated to make an impact on all of my students and future students to be. Currently studying at the University of Fraser Valley. I am completing my degree with a English and History minor. Through my studies, I have gained valuable skills such as professional communication in both verbal and written form, researching skills and critical thinking. From multiple courses offered at the University of Fraser Valley, I have had the chance to take many courses that focused on education. Through these courses I have had the opportunity to critically think and begin my ideal teaching philosophy. I have also been introduced to valuable skills such as class management, strategic planning, different teaching styles, and how to engage with diverse styles of learners. I am currently in my fifth year of working as an after-school program teacher through Wind and Tide. Through my experience at Wind and Tide, I have gained further experience in one-on-one tutoring. Moreover, I am in my second year working at Moby Dick Restaurant. Through illustrating my leadership capabilities, I progressively gained higher positions and after only 6 months was promoted to a manager position. I also now run the restaurant’s social media platform. On the side, I have started my own small business with my Cricut machine called mordecut, which I originally bought as a tool to use in my future classroom.
