After working with Apple devices personally and professionally for over 25 years, I launched Digital Helpmates as an extension of my solo Tech Tutoring business. The main purpose was to help more home users and small to medium-sized businesses gain access to affordable, consistent help with technology. Now, DHM exists as team of Tech Tutors and Virtual Assistants. Our employees live across the United States, and can help people and businesses remotely OR in person. We are teachers first, technology experts second. We believe affordable, regular tech help should be available to everyone.

After moving to the area, researched and organized dozens of volunteers to form the first consumer owned food co-op on the Kitsap Peninsula. Lead meetings, incorporated, oversaw a professional market study, attended co-op conferences in Pittsburgh and Portland, OR, and lead trainings in board development. In a management capacity, hired and directly oversaw employees to run the office, and recruited and trained new board members. Left at the end of my board term with nearly 300 member-owner households invested in the co-op.

Taught and designed original instructional units for 100 freshmen and sophomores in an arts-based small school within Berkeley High. Student taught at Redwood High and Novato High. Instructed 25 English Learners (and four student TAs) of different abilities in specific, mediated writing tasks throughout the year. Differentiated curriculum and worked closely with counselors and case managers for extremely diverse student population. Assessed students through alternative (arts-based) and traditional means.

Designed spreads & covers on the Dell consumer (home) catalog. Directed each spread from initial sketch, to layout, to art direction of photography and photo shoots, to management of production.
