Manage more than 15 staff to deliver medical care, food, and supportive services to about 500 people living with HIV/AIDS.

Working closely with the CEO, I provided leadership for cross-department collaboration to support the strategies and mission of USCHS as well as identified and recruited strategic partnerships with outside organizations. I was also responsible for fundraising and sponsorship revenue, preparing and delivering reports to the Board, and recruiting, training, and mentoring fundraising and program delivery staff.

Responsible for non-dues revenue for national organization of three corporations with 1,000 branches and more than 100,000 members and supporters. Designed and implemented a comprehensive diversified funding program involving direct mail, major gifts, workplace giving, events, sponsorships, corporations, foundations, business income and individual gifts. Marketed the organization through charity rating organizations and social media. In addition to managing staff, responsibilities include the identification and development of sources of revenue, cultivation and stewardship of new and existing funding relationships.

Planned, developed and managed all grant proposals for the 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) national organization with 24 state affiliates, research foundations and individuals. Arranged and participated in meetings with donors as well as prepared executive and program staff for meetings with donors. Developed program budgets and assisted in developing organizational cash-flow plans as well as assisted state affiliates in developing their fundraising capacity. Created work-plans and managed workflow of other development staff.

Coordinated efforts of Institutional Advancement to solicit donations from individuals, foundations, corporations and all other targeted constituencies. Coordinated planning and implementation of annual fund, mailings, phone-banks, data management and special events. Prioritized and contacted foundations, corporations and other targeted constituencies. Planned and provided for donor recognition and stewardship and increased the board of director’s involvement in fundraising activities.

Developed, implemented and evaluated on-site educational and social service programs for youths and adults living in four public housing communities. I directed all programs and staff at three Computer Learning Centers that were funded by an Economic Development and Supportive Services (EDSS) grant from Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Conducted prospect research and coordinated staff and more than 500 corporate volunteers and Foundation trustees for a statewide campaign to raise more than $4 million.
