I was my dad's shadow, and as he had been a third-generation dairy farmer, I learned much about the natural rhythms of life (of which we are a part), about getting my hands in the dirt to grow food, about slowing down and, as he would say, "really looking."I'm the youngest of seven and was, as a result, probably a bit feral as a kid. But that gave me time and space to run through the grass barefoot, to sit in the silent snowfall and wonder at it all, to explore a patch of earth and find a whole world in its inches. As an adult in our blindingly-fast world now, meditation helps me remember how to be present to the majesty, vast and miniscule, all around and within us.Dang do I love a good meal made with love from healthy, whole ingredients.
