Together we can do so much more.Est. 1994Mission: Inspiring children through the experience of music, generating creativity, academic success, and cultural understanding.Impact in 2022/2023This Academic Year, we:Expanded our outreach to new school districts throughout the nation with our Virtual Concert: Ferdinand the Bull with the Classics Philharmonic Orchestra, with over 24,000 students registered to view it and 962 views.Partnered with Mariachi Garibaldi, actor Yurel Echezarreta, classical guitarist Fred Benedetti, The Living Coast Discovery Center, and Crown Point Junior Music Academy to bring three concerts to the historic Balboa Theatre.Bolstered the arts industry by employing 20 professional orchestra musicians and 40 guest artists/educators.14 classroom docents and 21 concert ushers generously volunteered a total of 233.5 hours. With the average value of a volunteer hour in California at $29.95, this equates to a remarkable in-kind contribution of $6,994 to our community.

We worked with unemployed and underemployed to obtain career advancement. Through WIOA (formerly WIA) funding as Workforce Development case managers. Specialized in Resume review/creation, Mock interviews, Career search strategies. As the Escondido Career Center Manager, I created the delivery of WIA services in accordance with 501 parameters, work-ready, and workshops and activities. I was responsible for staffing the satellite(s) sites (Escondido public library) and delivering full services including workshops. Implemented corrective action plans as needed. Assured work was delegated and monitored work progress and staff performance. I developed project goals and objectives; assigned priorities and schedules to meet and exceed planned objectives. Made decisions to facilitate project accomplishments. Developed and implemented methods to monitor, review and improve work quality. Collaborated with business and community partners to ensure our center helped fulfill community employment needs. Partnerships included San Diego County, Vocational Rehab, Interfaith and Rehabilitative Organizations, Native American Reservations and Tribal Nations, Adult Schools, Tech Schools, Walmart, Albertsons, and more.Facilitated bi-weekly operational meetings with staff and partners. Ensured staff training was conducted when appropriate and implemented cross-training for staff development and operational strength.
