Worked with a designer to learn skills to design myself by the fourth edition, produced majority of content for first two years, contributed and edited majority of action photos and sold 100% of the advertisements during this two year-start up phase. As a college intern I contributed articles daily to the newspaper, and collected and laid out all the content for the paper's golf page, including writing a mini-golf column. I also filled in at neighboring Capital Times Newspapers where needed including the Baraboo News Republic and the Dells Events. Working at PDR was a wonderful baseline training in editing, writing press releases, writing news/human interest/sports/business articles, photography and page layout. I also had several feature articles picked up by the Associated Press while still a college intern.In my final year of contributing to PDR I sent a travel column home to Portage while I embarked on South Pacific adventures on a semester abroad.
