The challenge of helping business people achieve their goals still excites Laura R. Kuntz, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Practice, even after 30 years of practice. “Every day new issues arise and new problems need to be worked through,” she says, “and I enjoy being able to provide clients with the practical advice that helps them.” Doing so includes representing public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, securities regulation and general corporate matters.Her work includes disclosure and compliance under the SEC’s ever-changing regulatory framework, corporate governance issues under the Sarbanes Oxley Act, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and securities exchange requirements, as well as insider reporting and short-swing profit rules. In addition, she provides advice on public securities offerings and private placements of securities, shareholder agreements for family-owned and other private companies. Outside the office, Laura is actively involved in autism advocacy. She has chaired several autism walks to raise funds for autism research for Autism Speaks, a non-profit organization (and its predecessor), including the first autism walk to take place in New Jersey. Laura serves on the board of the New Jersey Chapter of Autism Speaks, where she also chairs the board's grants committee. She also serves on several committees of Bancroft, a leading provider of programs and services for children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
