Llamail - Newsletter Team
Integration Leader For The First Lala Harvest Team
The “First LALA Harvest Team” was a volunteer project in which the goal was to coordinate information (e.g. achievements, needs, opportunities, resources) from the Latin American Leadership Academy (LALA)’s community of 400+ alumni spread out over 16 countries in Latin America. The nine members of the Harvest Team were selected from a pool of applicants and were given full autonomy over the next 11 weeks to collaboratively strategize to achieve the project goal. We met weekly on Google Hangouts, learned to use a variety of tools (i.e. FB Workplace, Mindmeister and MailChimp), and practiced shared-leadership to take this project from brainstorming phase to prototyping phase, producing two deliverables: an Alumni Newsletter and a Bank of Opportunities for Latin American Youth. Our final task was to evaluate the entire process of the "First LALA Harvest Team", distill the lessons learned, and make recommendations for how the "Second LALA Harvest Team" can efficiently work together and sustain the Alumni Newsletter and Bank of Opportunities moving forward.
