Orryx is a specialist innovation advisory firm that works alongside businesses and the public sector, helping them innovate and transform for the future. I am involved in all aspects of the business including business development, client liaison, project delivery and contract management. As an Innovation Consultant I work on innovation assessments, programme and service design, implementation of new programmes and process and workshop design and delivery.

Catalyst Belfast Fintech Hub is a design driven innovation project set up in partnership with Catalyst NI and Danske Bank. I was selected pre-launch to be part of the management team to operationalize, manage and create an innovation hub to support entrepreneurial growth within Northern Ireland.

This company travels UK wide offering a supercar driving experience. My role within NI was to both recruit local employees to help on the day, train them for their role and liaise between the individual and the company. In addition to being a sales role, this role uncovered my passion for event management and planning. With over 150 customers per day, these events are large and required me to work as a team to manage the day efficiently. From this role I have skills in confidently and efficiently dealing with customer complaints appropriately, organising large events with little prior experience and taking on public relation and social media promotion.

I began in Boots as a customer assistant, however when an opportunity to work on a beauty counter arose I was asked to step in as a consultant. This role required me to be extremely organized as I needed to time manage the work of both retail assistant and account manager. I developed excellent prioritizing skills to ensure the profitability of the counter whilst also maintaining customer satisfaction. While working for Estee Lauder I was expected to maintain the professional and luxury image of the brand, through both my appearance and manor. What I most enjoyed about this position was the determination to surpass targets and compete with other beauty counters for the best sales. This role developed my abilities to identify business opportunities and quick thinking in order to act and develop these ideas. During this time I also worked as a freelance makeup artist, shaping my skills further in time management, planning and confirmed my passion for business.

The most important aspect of this role was time management, as I carried this role out throughout my A Levels, thus organisation was crucial. Effective team work and, deciding when to delegate tasks and ask for help was imperative in the success of the evening. Working for such a prestigious name, taught me that success lies with minor details and creating an experience for the clients.
