How did books and belief inflect people's lives in the Middle Ages? How did women shape society through literature and religion? I research these and other questions as professor of British literature at the University of Bergen, Norway, where I currently lead a large project on St. Birgitta of Sweden in Medieval England, funded by the Norwegian Research Council. I am also Research Coordinator for my department, the Institute of Foreign Languages, so I help coordinate all large grant proposals and have responsibility for the PhD candidates and post-docs. In addition, I am leader of the UiB research group on Literature and Religion.I also offer a wide range of professionalisation workshops for academics of all stages but especially early-career: on everything from healthy working habits and writing motivation, to how to get an article published, to academic networking.
