I am a Research Officer at the Electoral Psychology Observatory of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Before joining the EPO at LSE, I was a Lecturer in Politics (Electoral Studies) and Criminology (Research Methods) at Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Queen Mary, University of London. I hold a PhD in Political Science, and I have extensive experience in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, research design, and survey methodology. I have made use of these techniques for my own work, as well as taught these subjects at the undergraduate level for over four years. My research explores the relationship between demographic characteristics – particularly age – and political attitudes and behaviour.I have worked on a number of other research projects, including an ESRC-funded project on the social and ideological distance between UK voters and political elites with a team based at the University of Strathclyde, as well as project on the relationship between corruption and electoral accountability and public service employment, with a team at University College London (UCL). Part of my research has also contributed to the charity sector, including a project with the Joseph Rowntree Foundation on the changing profiles and political preferences of British low-income voters.Besides my work interests, I have a passion for writing, evidenced by a chapter contribution to the latest edition of the Oxford Handbook of Political Participation, as well as several contributions to the journal of the Politics and International Relations Society of Royal Holloway University, and to the online media outlets of the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin.
