Laura Story Johnson is an Independent Consultant specialized in research on trafficking in persons and the development and implementation of anti-trafficking initiatives. She has fifteen years of experience working on cross-disciplinary research projects, drafting funding proposals, managing human rights and anti-trafficking programs and projects, developing and delivering training and technical assistance to government and NGO practitioners, and leading metrics tracking and the design of MERL approaches for compliance and reporting. She originated the 4S approach for developing child-friendly spaces (childfriendlyspaces.warnathgroup.com) and has created technological solutions to enhance the protection and assistance of trafficking victims and survivors, as well as to reduce risk for vulnerable children and adolescents. As an attorney, she has worked on asylum, VAWA, and U visa cases and represented victims of domestic violence in protection order hearings. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses on human rights, international relations, migration, and gender studies.
