Global Exploration Experience SummaryTullow Oil Nov 2010 - Apr 2016County Dublin, Ireland• Kenya: Onshore Cenozoic South Lokicahar and Kerio rift basins, structural & sedimentary plays. ◦ Deemed uncommercial by Shell 1992 after Loperot-1 wildcat. Tullow drilled basin opener wildcat Ngamia-1 in 2012, 21 appraisal wells to date. ◦ Primary seismic processor, sole database manager and primary reporter to contractors.• Madagascar: Permo-Triassic basin, since deemed uncommercial. ◦ Displayed, corrected, repositioned and transposed all vintage navigation to preferred datum (WGS84) using a combination of Microsoft Excel, Arc GIS & Google Earth.• Involved with processing data for and attended contractor updates, meetings and demonstrations regarding Uganda (Lake Albert Basin) & Ghana (Jubilee Field).• Exposure to operations and exploration in Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Suriname, French Guyana and Mauritania.• Basin Analysis projects using UK and Ireland exploration data as part of degree study. -
GeoscientistTullow Oil Jan 2016 - Mar 2016Dublin, Ireland• Project managed Tullow’s exploration in Kenya across nearly 42,000km2 of licensed acreage. Including processing, reprocessing, storage, databasing and display.• Presented reports regarding all geophysical products to shareholders, internally and externally, via e-mail and telecoms to ensure products were fit for purpose and would add value to the Kenyan asset. This resulted in 9 successful appraisal wells in South Lokichar unlocking an estimated 700 mmboe gross recoverable reservoir.• Produced feasibility studies regarding processing products using timelines, reports and Gantt charts to evaluate budget, resource and value factors.• Evaluation of test products provided by contractors, feeding back relevant information from inhouse work and ensuring these products were of a high enough quality to be integrated with inhouse products and added value to interpretations. Managed these relationships effectively. • Consulted regarding survey planning daily across the Geophysical Operations team for all geophysical exploration across Kenya, from survey design, specification and parameter setting, AFEs, tender and QC as well as community liaison. This included 100,000km2 of FTG surveys across Kenya and Ethiopia. • Processed >1000km2 of 3D seismic land data through collaboratively developed Post Stack Time Migration workflows feeding back into survey design parameters for each phase of the survey. • Picked, built and developed 3D interval and RMS velocity models for this survey to feed back into further processing. Ensured these tied with all existing 2D velocity models. • Picked and applied static models across the survey providing extensive knowledge and experience using elevation, refraction and residual statics.• Post Stack Depth Migration and Pre-Stack Time Migration processed subsets of this dataset.• Generated and delivered functional 3D seismic volumes to in-house and external clients efficiently and in response to changing timelines and priorities. -
Graduate GeoscientistTullow Oil Jul 2011 - Dec 2015Dublin, Ireland• Post Stack Time Migration processed nearly 10,000km of 2D seismic data acquired by Tullow between 2010 and 2015 across 42,000km2 of licensed acreage. Also reprocessed all vintage seismic data for these blocks dating back to 1986.• Ensured both RMS & Interval velocity sections tied with all other processed lines, both vintage and newly acquired. Built findings into geological interpretation and survey design. • Picked and applied static models across the survey providing extensive knowledge and experience using elevation, refraction and residual statics.• Parameter tested and developed data muting and denoise techniques including sample mutes, stretch mutes, bandpass filtering, AGC, multiple suppression etc. • First Break picked both land and marine data, NMO correction experience in both land and marine processing. • Gained understanding of the effects for geological complications such as volcanic layers and complex structural systems on seismic data and how to minimize their deteriorative effects during processing. • Generated and delivered functional 2D seismic sections to in-house and external clients efficiently and in response to changing timelines and priorities.• Conveyed complex ideas to a range of audiences from those within my department to those working in other business units.• Managed databases and database listings for all data inherited and acquired for 42,000km2 of licensed acreage. This involved cataloguing and creating a file storage system where data could be easily found and utilised. All vintage data received when new licences were acquired and in-house data acquired between 2010-2016, in both hard copy and virtual, were included in this framework.• Documented all workflows created and altered via presentations and reporting documents.• Maintained spreadsheets showing processing status of all sections and volumes of seismic data acquired and vintage data to be used in progress reports -
Trainee GeoscientistTullow Oil Nov 2010 - Jul 2011Dublin, Ireland• Repositioned and QC'd all vintage seismic data (1980s) from Tullow's 14,000km2 Madagascar acreage.• Databased all data relating to vintage seismic and reported on progress of repositioning and processing.• Developed Excel, ArcGIS and Google Earth skills to complete all tasks above effectively.
