I have been working on global social impact projects, gender equity, cross-sector partnerships, sustainability and international development since I moved to the UK in 2005. This followed a 10-year career as a business journalist in my home country, Brazil.I focus my work on global projects that deliver positive social impact and bring both a strategic approach and practical skills to the process of change. I am especially adept at working in complex and multi-cultural environments, with a diverse set of decision makers, having led programmes present in more than 15 countries. Over the years, I developed a deep understanding of women’s rights and trust-based philanthropy. I am a strong believer in the power of equitable partnerships between organisations as a way to devolve power and decolonise development.Currently, I co-lead the Womanity with Shivani Gupta, while I continue to lead our program focused on prevention of violence against women and girls, the Womanity Award.Womanity is a non-for-profit specialising in investing in and developing solutions to address gender-based issues. We do that by supporting grassroots organisations, girls’ education, leveraging media to promote gender equality, supporting South to South partnerships to prevent violence against women and girls and supporting women’s access to land rights.I also serve at the Board of Directors of Right to Be (formerly Hollaback!).For nine years, I worked in Unilever where I managed global partnerships with international NGOs and UN agencies, including Save the Children, UN Women and the World Food Programme.
