Responsible for beta-based reseach and science policy on both a national and international level, including the organization of the EU chairmanship of the Netherlands in 2016. Involved with the ministry's policy on science communication.

March 2015- August 2015: Directie Kennis.In the 'knowledge' department of the ministry of education I am part of the 'prognosis, scenario's and policy statistics'. As project manager on the monitor on the connection between education and the workforce, and the monitor on the new policy 'passend onderwijs' I maintain internal and external contacts with all educational departments, and with DUO and the CBS for data collection. I also analyze the monitors to give policy advice and create information products.September 2014- March 2015: Directie Hoger Onderwijs en Studiefinanciering.As part of the department of student finance I played an active role in the reform of the student finance system in the Netherlands. This included having detailed knowledge of the old and new system, as well as being sensitive to the political balance. During my time at this deparment I have worked with the Minister to help her prepare for her debates in the upper and lower house. Furthermore I was a player in both the logistical planning and content based answering of written questions from members of parliment. March 2014- August 2014: National Expert at the Directorate-General for Health and ConsumersI was part of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing, a cooperation of EU, regions, industry, research institutions and healthcare professionals, to improve the quality of life of older people. My tasks included supporting the work of the unit by collaborating in communication, administrative and logistic tasks as well as supporting policy development and analysis. This included the development of a database in which a qualitative and quantitative analysis could be made of the EIP's achievements and goals.September 2013- February 2014: Directie communicatieadvies en omgevingskennis.Here I worked on the organisation and communication around Minister Bussemakers 'MBO-tour' including online (social media) and printed communication media.

Research on the Optical Detection of GPCAR activation, specifically on the development of biosensors of olfactory receptors.In this project an array of mammalian receptors was used for the detection of food products. To achieve this, optical, fluorescence-based, methods are ideal as they provide high sensitivity and specificity combined with high spatial and temporal resolution. The aim of this project is to develop sensitive and reliable optical read-outs for the parallel detection of receptor activation. In this position I have analysed date by using macro's and advanced excelsheets. On multiple occasions presented I have my work, written proposals for projects, made poster presentations and participated actively in discussions. An chapter has been published in my name.
