Delivered multiple key projects from definition all the way through development, testing and implementation, working mainly with Compliance, Operations and Advisory teams. Worked in the Structural Engineering team of a national engineering design and consultancy company. During my time at Hydrock I was responsible for structural designs of several schools, an office building and a Bristol Airport extension; as well as multiple residential estates. My role involved using British Standards and Building Regulations to perform calculations on steel and concrete structures; using various software packages for complex structural analysis (e.g. 3D modelling, Finite Element analysis); preparing technical drawings and sketches for contractors and liaising with architects about structural designs.
