I teach all subject areas for grades 5 & 6.

As a teacher’s assistant in a multi-grade school, I worked very closely with both the teacher and the students, providing one-on-one instruction; teaching English, mathematics, and religion; supervising recess and extra-curricular activities; grading papers; and assisting in music instruction.

For the three months that I stayed in Poland, I taught conversational English to students ranging in age from young children to middle-aged adults. Some only knew a fews words while others knew basic conversational English. Each of the six classes that I taught was contoured to both the age of the group and the students’ fluency levels. Engaging activities were employed to encourage lots of speaking, creativity in word choice, thorough understanding of sentence structure, and quick thinking.

While teaching piano, I gave private instruction to five students in classical piano playing. At the end of the school year, I held a piano recital for my students to participate in. As a tutor, I worked with five bright students, giving them one-on-one assistance in math, science, and English language arts.

As a copy editor, edited manuscripts and proofs and contributed some writing.

I was a group leader and class assistant for the first three years. The last year I served as a counselor I also taught the Child Evangelism class. Each year, I helped to organize and facilitate before, during, and after the camp.
