    Dmarehability Oct 2019 - Present
    London, Ontario, Ca
DMARehability is a full service multi-disciplinary rehabilitation company with a provincial presence. The Director, Clinical Quality and Client Services will serve to allow DMARehability to continue to maintain their position as a leader in the industry through the continued provision of amazing, top-notch, clinical services province-wide. The Director, Clinical Quality and Client Services, role requires me to work alongside all disciplines at DMARehability – both at the department/team and individual clinician level. This includes the departments of: Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Therapy, Case Management, and Vocational Rehabilitation. The goal is to be present as an active resource to the team providing a global overview of the rehabilitative needs on the file, working with the clinicians providing insight on clinical cases. In addition, the role is present as a liaison and resource for our community partners and referral sources. In this role I bring over 2-decades of clinical experience, including near 15-years as a treating OT working in the Auto Industry and 5-years working in house at a large personal injury law firm.
  • Greg Monforton And Partners
    Director Of Medical Outreach
Greg Monforton And Partners Sep 2014 - Sep 2019
As the Director of Medical Outreach I was a liaison between Greg Monforton and Partners, our clients and involved community providers - from family doctor to hospital to clinician. My experience as a front-line clinician having worked within the context of multidisciplinary teams (in hospital and community) provided me with the ability to work productively with the rehabilitation providers, lawyers and the client to support rehabilitation efforts after injury. I was present to provide an understanding of the nature of the rehabilitative process post trauma to allow for improvement and recovery of function in the face of sudden onset injury, loss of function and the overall disruption of life roles. I educated the team on injury awareness, recovery processes, rehabilitative timelines and the auto insurance processes and paperwork; regularly consulting with community medical and rehabilitative partners ensure all were aware of current and forthcoming changes to the Regulations. While at the law firm I would work 1:1 with the legal team completing file audits for the purpose of: clinical analysis of rehab needs, and critical review of various documents and reports including but not limited to: CAT assessments, IME, IE, OCF-18s denials, FCC reports, and treatment provider reports.
  • Dmarehability

As a Senior Therapist I was responsible for both direct clinical involvement, and supervising and training professional staff. I was Clinical Lead for the Windsor-Essex region, overseeing clinical and professional relationships and was instrumental in the growth and development of the regional office.Clinically I worked with a variety of diagnoses in a varying degree of severity, including: TBI, SCI, traumatic amputations, multiple orthopedic diagnoses and mental health conditions. Much of my caseload included individuals deemed Catastrophically injured. The majority of my clients sustained injuries as a result of a MVC. I would often begin working with the clients at time of discharge from hospital or onset of originating injury through to, and often times after, the settlement of their claim. I have accrued a knowledge base and advanced skills, related to: Architectural Redesign, Driving Assessments, Functional Abilities Evaluations, Situational Assessments, and detailed and defensible Assessment of Attendant Care Needs Reports. I regularly completed stand alone Occupational Therapy Needs Analysis, a tool used by FCC assessors, plaintiff and defense counsel for determining costs of current and post accident needs as related to personal care, home management, care-giving, home modifications and assistive devices. Clinically I have participated in: vehicle modifications, purchase of accessible vehicles, and consulting on minor home modifications to working alongside architects and contractors for major accessibility renovations or the build of accessible housing. Having amassed several areas of specialty and regularly completing reports constructed using evidenced based research, scholarly articles, and literature reviews resulted in regular requests for completion of Expert Opinion Reports and my attendance, by both Plaintiff and Defence Counsel, at various Mediations, Arbitrations and at the Superior Courts of Ontario.
