About Laura Windt
My goal is to contribute to a healthy society! I am passionate about innovative models that mimic the human body as good as possible, such as Organ-on-Chip. The cells are all derived from human induced pluripotent stem cells to create models for personalised therapies and prevention. During my Biotechnology studies at Wageningen University (WUR; with exchanges to Utrecht and Technical University of Denmark, DTU), I researched intestinal organoids derived from stem cells. During my internship at Mimetas, I modelled vascularized Lung and Liver-on-a-chip. At LUMC I did my PhD research on Heart-on-chip in Prof. Dr. Christine Mummery's lab and within the Netherlands Organ on Chip Initiative (NOCI).At Health~Holland, I work as project lead Organ-on-Chip to stimulate (inter)national collaborations.
