As a fresh graduate, I was certain that marketing is my passion and I wanted my first job to be in the marketing field! The marketing industry however, is too broad. There were too many career options for me and I simply did not know where to start. When PichaEats offered me to try out the social media marketing role, I decided to give it a shot! PichaEats is an impact-driven enterprise that empowers refugees through an innovative food business; and we sell mainly through social media. My responsibilities include:- - Managing key social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter- Designing social media graphics and editing videos- Creative copywriting on captions, articles and ad copies- Building online communities - Developing social media and content strategies to improve brand awareness and boost company sales!Achievements:- Directed a 20-person team on producing a high quality CNY promo video with over 10,000 views with a budget of less than RM3,000. - Established social media partnerships with lifestyle influencers such as Timothy Tiah, Fourfeetnine, Careen Tan. - Launched an International Women's Day social media campaign titled #ToMyYoungerSelf in collaboration with refugee chefs and over 15 women artists.

Hungary

As someone who is passionate about the English language, I volunteered as an English teacher at a summer camp in Hungary. My role was to help Hungarian students of age 12-15 y/o improve their English language; and I did so by developing creative and fun lesson plans. My goal was to inspire them to love the language, and I successfully did that with the 30 students that I had.

I got an internship placement with Beiersdorf in the global marketing headquarters in Hamburg, Germany after successfully winning the International Internship Challenge (IIC) in 2017 among 100 participants. Over the past months, I have been assisting brand managers in global shower innovation projects in different areas: from concept development to product formulation and packaging. The culturally-diverse environment in headquarters, together with the cross-functional nature of my job makes me flexible and adaptable to different work styles. This was evident in my recent project; where I spearheaded the development of NIVEA's first Fragrance Academy and Shower 101. Both were recently launched during the Blue Academy Week, NIVEA's annual marketing conference with has more than 120 participants globally.

Unilever was the place where I gained first hand experience in the FMCG industry. Being the winner of the Unilever Future Leaders League marketing challenge in 2015, I was offered the opportunity to intern with Malaysia's leading tea brand: Lipton Tea. I was responsible for assisting the brand manager on analyzing sales figures and media trends to provide more in-depth understanding to the overall tea business issues. Despite my relative years of experience, I was able to navigate the Nielsen database quickly and provide insightful analysis within a month period. My other responsibilities include planning and managing operational activities across internal and external stakeholders.
