I was responsible for designing and implementing math and English curriculum for sixth to eighth grade English Language Learners who had been diagnosed with mild/moderate learning disabilities. This teaching was done using a pull-out model. I developed and implemented Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for twenty-six students.

Supported local project partners in the local school district in the Dominican Republic. I collaborated with a local university, PUCMM in providing workshops to 25 teachers at two local elementary schools from 2008-2009. I successfully trained 180 teachers and school personal in 5 communities in classroom management techniques, reading methods, learning styles, writing intervention techniques, and effective teaching practices. I worked at the local level, focusing my efforts on two public schools from 2008-2009, and an NGO that worked with children with special needs from 2009-2010. I also provided training to 46 Peace Corps Volunteers in the areas of teaching and assessing reading, classroom management, and learning styles.
