Laurel P. Email and Phone Number
Starting off with the warmest of welcomes to those of you taking a few moments to view my LinkedIn profile! My name is Laurel. I grew up in the fantastic state of New Hampshire before moving to Massachusetts in late 2021. I've participated in a variety of industries. From various customer service settings to light industrial manufacturing, I've acquired a diverse set of skills. Of course, having superior written and verbal communication skills is a given, and I've become adept at conflict resolution. My most prominent past career experience has come from roles I've held at WestBridge Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center. My ability to building relationships with people from various backgrounds improved. A person-centered approach to substance use treatment became my focus and is a strategy I continue to use while working as a therapeutic mentor. I also gained more exposure to those with a dual-diagnosis of substance use and schizophrenia/schizoeffective disorders. Understanding this population can make all the difference when distinguishing causation of symptoms.I currently wear many hats. I began as a recruiter with no experience, approximately three weeks ago. Within the first week, I had my first placement and have more candidates in the works. More importantly, I've learned how I can be a shining light in the lives of those I'm supporting in their career journeys. Although it's a business, I've quickly realized that the approach to people is everything.I also maintain part-time employment as a therapeutic mentor for youth and young adults in the Merrimack Valley area of Massachusetts, as well as working for a group of Hospitalists as a Program Coordinator. The opportunity to interact with individuals from varying sociodemographic backgrounds provides me with insight to the complex needs of different populations. The experiences also enable me to further tailor my approach to the individual based upon factors that impact perception and the separate realities.

Busines Operations ManagerCaregigs Sep 2022 - PresentNorth Andover, Massachusetts, United StatesAs the Business Operations Manager for a startup, I've learned that the expectations and responsibilities of my role continue to expand and unfold daily as new challenges/needs present themselves. I oversee the onboarding process and recruitment processes of nursing staff. I determine pay rates. I manage client relationships, as well as keep employees engaged. I gather feedback to improve processes. I’m in charge of tracking payroll/verifying hours, scheduling, following the recruitment lifecycle, site visits, completing background checks, ensuring compliance with DPH regulations, and being a one-woman Human Resources department that adheres to fair, ethical business practices and procedures. It’s like getting to be the voice for the employees! Additionally, I meet with key team players on a weekly basis. Other responsibilities have included creating spreadsheets to track applicants and their progress, as well as researching current market wages and presenting this information to the team members. I provide feedback and embrace my creative critical thinking skills by sharing ideas for process improvement…. You know, all the good stuff :’) -
Mri Tech Aide / Per-DiemShields Mri Aug 2022 - PresentWestford, Massachusetts, United StatesAs an MRI Tech Aide, I assist the MRI Technologist with setting up the room. I'm able to identify various coils for different body parts. Keep the MRI environment safe and free from hazards is a large part of my role. To keep patients safe, I complete follow up patient interviews to review medical history and screening for potential safety hazards. I think the most rewarding aspect of my role is the reassurance and support I provide to patients that are anxious or claustrophobic. There have been a couple of times where I'm not sure the patient would have made it through their examine if I had been unable to support them. Some other action items I complete include ensuring paperwork is done post-exam, stocking and cleaning exam rooms, data entry, using Ambra and eRAD systems, and performing closing procedures at the end of the night. -
Program Coordinator / Per-DiemNew England Inpatient Specialists Nov 2021 - PresentAs a weekend Program Coordinator, I assign patients to physicians based upon multiple factors. Proper assignment of patients involves understanding the geographical layout of the hospital and practicing mindfulness when assigning various floors to doctors, as the travel time from one floor to another needs to be considered. Ensuring that patients are given back to the same physician whenever possible, but also allowing for flexibility when assigning because needs are constantly changing. Being able to handle short-notice situations, such as doctor callouts or troubleshooting equipment malfunctions has been a skilled I've honed in on and nurtured. These skills are applicable in all employment settings and have proven beneficial multiple times over outside of NEINSP.

Human Resources CoordinatorRight At Home May 2022 - Sep 2022Bedford, Massachusetts, United StatesAs an HR Coordinator, I employed a thorough prescreening process of potential candidates prior to conducting office interviews. I also strived to maintain relationships with new and existing employees to ensure retention. An example of this was sending out "Happy Birthday" emails to caregivers. as well as reaching out to employees quickly to navigate any technical difficulties they would have. I built upon my recruiting skills through the expansion of forums I used to source new candidates. As part of the pre-hire process, I completed background checks, CORI checks, and completed reference calls. Completing references calls was one of my favorite tasks because I could use my problem solving skills when having trouble getting ahold of a candidate's references in a timely fashion to access alternate reference sources. Upon offering candidates positions, I completed the full orientation and onboarding process. I was afforded the opportunity to work with an office full of wonderful ladies whom I met with regularly to discuss business and scheduling needs, and how those needs drove the candidates I needed to source. -
