I contracted with the Bureau of Land Management to inventory and monitor vegetation and soil in southern Wyoming.

I served on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands as a Natural Resource Fellow at Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve. I developed a comprehensive restoration plan for the site and took care of the native plant nursery in addition to leading education programs in the preserve. This was a Scientist in the Park position and funded through Conservation Legacy.

Serving in field education with Teton Science Schools. Leading field lessons and evening programs for kids ages 5th grade to high school. Working with the Town of Jackson to develop their sustainability plan and Slow Food in the Tetons to build capacity.

Developed project proposals for a native pollinator garden plan and an ecosystem stewards plan for the Town of Jackson's Ecosystem Stewardship Administrator. Facilitated habitat restoration events and met with various student groups to receive input on the project proposals.

Performing DNA extractions of Heteromoles arbutifolia and Penstemon newberryi for the California Conservation Genomics Project.

Partnered with the Nature Conservancy and the City of Los Angeles to model over 1,000 species in the Greater Los Angeles area to see where habitat connectivity was lacking and what areas should be prioritized for conservation.Coordinated fieldwork at over 40 sites for 15 different target species to validate the generated model. Presented at the Southern California Academy of Science conference at UCSB.

This internship was located at Blue Oak Ranch Reserve, a UC Natural Reserve managed by UC Berkeley. My tasks consisted of efficiently creating a methodology for understanding the current recruitment status of the oak populations within the reserve, understanding how the data was to be collected, and analyzing its relevance for our own purposes and goals. Additionally, a great deal of time was spent on the management of the herbarium collection found within the reserve. I gained experience developing field protocols, working in a team, and driving four wheel drive on uneven terrain in cars and a Kubota.

As an intern for CNGF, I assist with plant and harvesting in order to learn hands-on how to grow produce in an urban environment in a regenerative and organic method. I write narratives for grants and edit grants, as well as correspond with our partners to complete our grants. I am a part of planning the various education programs put on by CNGF for training teachers how to teach outdoors and assist in meeting logistics.

Served as an intern at the nursery. Performed maintenance tasks such as weeding, fertilizing, and soil mixing for the plants. Worked with residents of San Jose to replace or sell street trees in accordance with the City of San Jose's regulations.

Developed garden based curriculum for middle school students at Mark Twain Middle School in Venice, CA. Prepared in a format fully ready for a teacher to implement in the garden classroom.

Conducted research for UCLA in order to implement "Green Lab" policies. Performed waste audits in various labs on campus and identified main forms of waste in the trash, recycling, and compost. Wrote education materials to provide for labs and surveys to reduce the wastes we had identified.

Worked with children ages 6 months to 12 years old. Taught and prepared church school lessons on a regular basis.
