Manage both the Main Street Farmers Market, which is an indoor winter market, and the Northern Poconos Mobile Farm Market, which travels around Wayne and Pike County to provide an affordable, accessible, and equitable method for seniors and low- to middle-income folks to purchase locally grown and produced foods. Facilitate NEAR Cash (Nutrition Education Awareness Rewards) to extend the buying power of SNAP benefits and further improve access to local foods. This program collaborates with Wayne Memorial Health's Food Rx Program. Collaborate with other community partners to hold quarterly Senior Gathering luncheon events where older adults can gather around a shared meal for a bit of educational or entertaining programming, all in the name of combating the social isolation that many older individuals can experience.Provide both internal and external food outreach programming. Examples of internal programming include presentations and demonstrations for The Cooperage Project's Pop-Up Clubs, while external programming includes more public facing events done in conjunction with other local organizations.Speaking and presentation topics can be tailored for all ages and include:- food systems and the local foodscape, including the benefits of eating local, in-season foods- agriculture and gardening topics, including soil science and beginner gardening education

Concurrent to work as a Research Scientist, lead a grass-roots effort to create a new safety program when the Packaging and Building Materials department was formed at Rohm and Haas. * organized a group of ~20 individuals to assess the existing safety programs and draft a proposal for the new program* presented the proposal to management, and with their support began implementation of the new plan within 3 months of the department's formation* regularly presented safety training and communicated policy changes to groups of 100+ individuals* interfaced with members of other departments to be sure that a consistent safety message was being shared with all members of the site

Worked with the Environment, Health and Safety group at Agere's headquarters in Allentown, PA in order to:• Conduct efficiency studies on air handling and VOC scrubbers for the manufacturing facility• Create and manage an awareness program for Ozone Action Days in coordination with Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection• Author an online training program in hazard communication and awareness
