After a lifechanging job loss, I realized that my true passion and interest wasn't tied to the lab bench - but to the projects that allowed me to stretch my creativity and collaborate with others for the benefit of the whole. A simple little idea - could we sell our extra pumpkins? could that become something more? - has grown into The Farm at Mill Run, a three-season operation specializing in farm fresh produce and related products. In March 2023, I took the experiences and skills I had acquired as a small farm owner and applied for a brand new position created by The Cooperage Project, a non-profit entity in Wayne County, PA that serves as a community hub centered around building a vibrant, engaged, and interwoven community through the use of educational and entertaining programming and initiatives for all ages. The Farm at Mill Run will continue even as I return to more traditional full-time employment. We will adapt to the changing times and find ways that we can continue to serve our friends and neighbors.
