For two months, I student taught at The International School of Tegucigalpa in a second grade classroom. While in Honduras, I completed my student teaching requirement for Taylor University, assumed full time teaching responsibility and experienced Honduran culture.

Fort Wayne, Indiana Area

I served as a college assistant at the St. Patrick's Summer Clubhouse location. In my position I interacted and taught Language Arts in a 4th grade classroom to 25 and low socio-economic and minority students. This program is grant-based and is operated through Taylor University and focuses on helping students on relationship skills, reinforcement of academic skills, as well as community awareness and involvement. Aside from academic work, students were also taken on a few field trips including The Fort Wayne Zoo and the Carmike Movie Theater.

Camden, Oh

For eight weeks over the summer (for 3 summers in a row), I was a cabin counselor and I mentored, and lead a group of elementary through high school age students. A typical day for the campers and I included, being outside, doing challenge courses, crafts, swimming as well as having a small group devotional time each day.
