I am a recent MS graduate of Brigham Young University, where I worked on quinoa breeding and phylogenomics of crop wild relatives under the supervision of Dr. Rick Jellen, Associate Dean of the College of Life Sciences. My core competencies include quantitative genetics, population genetics, and bioinformatics.As a research assistant, I have contributed to multiple publications and presentations on the genetic diversity and improvement of quinoa and its relatives. My experience includes various laboratory and field techniques including DNA extraction, PCR, scripting in Python and R, open-source bioinformatics pipelines and data analysis. I am passionate about applying my genetics knowledge and skills to address global challenges, such as food security, biodiversity conservation, and human health. I am eager to join a team that shares my vision and values, and that can offer me opportunities to learn, grow, and collaborate.
